Jab Lift

Patrick has spent 15 seasons playing at the top level with Cork, winning 4 All Star Awards and 3 Munster titles along the way. Patrick’s journey started as a 6-year-old with his club Glen Rovers, where he played Street Leagues every Sunday morning and practiced his skills on the pitches during the week. The top scorer in last year’s club and intercounty hurling championships, he is still seen practicing the basic skills of the game every day in Glen Rovers to make sure he is always improving.

In these videos, Patrick explains how he learned the skills as a youngster. Striking from hand, ground control, jab lift and first touch are some of his favourite skills and here he gives full access on how to practice and perfect these for your games.

Quote from Patrick – “Practicing the basic skills every day from an early age helped me to play hurling at intercounty level. Working hard at practicing your skills is very important but you also need to make sure to have fun and enjoy training and playing hurling with your friends and teammates.”
